Rice Krispies Treats

These babies are good! Made with lots of browned butter, lots of marshmallow and lots of salt. Plus a added bonus of vanilla bean just to make it more special.

  • 2 cup Salted Butter 4 sticks
  • 4 10 oz bags Dandies Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 Vanilla Bean seeds removed
  • 3 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 10 oz box Barbara's Bakery Organic Brown Rice Cereal
  • 2 tbsp Jacobsen Flaky Sea Salt


  • In a large pot brown the 4 sticks of butter on the stovetop on medium heat. It will take about 10-12 minutes. You want the butter to be a deep golden brown color.
  • Turn heat to low and add the marshmallows, stirring consistently, scraping the bottom of the pot and folding the mixture.
  • Once the butter and marshmallows are combined turn off the heat. Add the vanilla bean and extract. Be carful the extract will bubble. Mix until combined.
  • Line a section of your countertop with plastic wrap and pour the cereal on top. Spread out a little and pour the marshmallow mixture on top.
  • When the mixture is cool enough to handle fold in the cereal and form into a square. Don't press too hard.
  • Sprinkle the top of the Krispy treats with a heavy hand of salt.
  • Once cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!
